This training explores how Yin Yoga can support trauma healing through a slow, body-based approach. It is designed for yoga teachers and yoga professionals who wish to integrate trauma-informed Yin Yoga into their teaching practice, while also welcoming therapists, coaches, bodyworkers, and practitioners with a Yoga background who want to apply trauma-sensitive yin yoga in their work. The program is also suitable for individuals on their own healing path who wish to deepen their understanding of trauma-informed Yin Yoga.

This course is eligible for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (CE) hours through the Subject Matter Expert pathway. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate documenting 50 CE hours, which may be submitted directly to Yoga Alliance by the student.

What You’ll Learn

  • Modules 1 to 4: Form the psychoeducational foundation of this Yin Yoga training, covering essential concepts such as trauma physiology, nervous system regulation, fascia science, functional anatomy, and the principles of trauma-informed Yin Yoga teaching. .
  • Module 5: Represents the practical core of the training, guiding you step-by-step through 21 carefully selected, experience-based Yin Yoga shapes. These trauma-sensitive yin yoga exercises, breathwork practices, and guided awareness practices are designed to support nervous system regulation, release stored tension in the body, and help your clients or students cultivate safety, resilience, and deep healing.

Course Features

Each module consists of a series of lessons, each accompanied by:

  • A comprehensive written manual forming the core of your documented self-study and Continuing Education hours
  • Module quizzes and reflective integration assignments
  • For Module 5, 21 instructional demonstration videos presenting trauma-informed Yin Yoga shapes, with the thoughtful use of props where appropriate to support safety and accessibility, while demonstrating trauma-informed sequencing
  • Recommended reading to deepen your professional understanding

Throughout the course, moderated feedback and discussion are available within each chapter, allowing you to refine your insights, practice and teaching approach. Upon completion, each participant attends a personal Final Integration Interview to reflect on their learning and receive their Yin Yoga Teacher Certification (50 CE hours).
